Vaporizors and Accessories

A vaporizer is a device that uses heat to vaporize your herb or waxy concentrate instead of burning it. Vaporizers come in all shapes and sizes and usually use electric power or an external heat source to heat up your herbs for herb vaping or concentrate to the optimal temperature (just below combustion). This all happens without igniting them, so you only inhale vapor instead of unwanted smoke. Most vaporizers feature a fast heat-up time with adjustable heat settings for a more customizable vaping experience. With a few clicks of a button, these adjustable temperature settings give you the power to fine-tune the vapor quality to your personal preference. Vaping at lower temperatures enables a wider variety of compounds to be heated to their activation point without being burned off. We recommend experimenting with the temperature settings to control which compounds are activated.

The difference between a vaporizer and a bong

Vaporizers are mostly battery-powered, portable plastic or stainless-steel handheld devices that heat your waxy concentrate just below combustion to produce vapor from weed vape. Bongs are usually constructed from glass and use naked flame to ignite the bowl and burn your herbs. The vapor produced by weed vape, concentrate, and oil vapes are a lot less harsh and cleared from carcinogens and other toxins that are unhealthy to smokers and those around them. Many bongs use water filtration and percolators to clean and filter the smokey hit, where as electric vaporizers use lower temperatures to reach their activation vaping point without overheating and burning your material. Most vaporizers come with precise temperature control settings, which means you can control which compounds are activated and customize your experience. When you use a bong, you normally use a naked flame to ignite the herbs in the bowl while you inhale to produce smoke instead of vapor. Vaporizers have smaller mouthpieces compared to bongs and rarely feature a glass mouthpiece.

How to start using a Vaporizer

Using a vaporizer is not complex at all but here are some tips for getting started:

  1. Buy quality equipment: A good vape pen or mod should be able to handle almost any materials. It needs to have enough power to heat up your herbs quickly, so they don't cool down too much when you take another drag. Make sure it has adjustable airflow controls because if not, you may end up burning yourself on hot vapors. Also, make sure there aren't any sharp edges around the heating chamber. These could cut into your lips or tongue.
  2. Keep your mouth closed: When vaping, keep your mouth closed. Your lungs shouldn't breathe in any air during inhalation. That would defeat the purpose of vaping.
  3. Clean your vaporizer regularly: Vaporizers tend to collect residue after each session. To prevent buildup, wipe them out with a cleaner every time you finish.
  4. Make sure you have enough batteries: You want to avoid running out of power when vaping. It's recommended to have at least a second battery or that you've got your vape connected to a charger. Most vaporizers are rechargeable devices.

What to look for when buying a vaporizer

Vaporizers are as varied as the strains of our favorite herb, so here are some things to look out for when you’re shopping for a vaporizer.

  • Temperature control: Some vaporizers can set the temperature of the device and allow you to define the temperature range. This gives you total control over which compounds are activated with each hit. Remember, combustion happens at around 450 °F. So keeping your vape at 420 °F is not only easy to remember, it also keeps things cool enough to avoid smoke.
  • Method of heating: There are two main methods that vaporizers use to heat your herb. Conduction and convection.
    • Conduction is the most common. This works by heating a surface (usually metal) that the herb is in direct contact with. When you load up your wax concentrate rig/concentrate vaporizer and touch that red-hot nail to the wax, you’re using conduction.
    • Convection uses precisely heated air to pass over and through the herb or concentrate. Whatever you’re vaporizing is not in actual contact with the heating element. This results in a more complete and even vaporizing of your flower. Vaporizing is a perfect method for aromatherapy
  • What are you vaporizing? Some vaporizers are designed specifically for use with oil, wax, and concentrate. If this is what you’re after, you need a vape pen, concentrate pen, dab pen, or oil pen. Other vaporizers are designed specifically for dry herbs or flowers. And there are others still that can do both. Have a browse through our extensive selection to choose one that's right for you.
  • Size: Vaporizers come in all shapes and sizes. A small / micro pen can easily and discreetly fit into your pocket or purse for hits on the go. A pen vaporizer is the cheapest way to start vaping for beginners. A mid-sized dry herb vape is a bit more chunky, but still pocket-friendly and usually intended for flowers.
